Pillar 1: Mental Health
Our goal:
Create safe spaces in every Georgia school where teens can access mental health support, reducing the state's youth suicide rate from 14% to zero.
In today's fast-paced world, many teens are struggling to keep up with the pressures of school, extracurricular activities, and social life. These overwhelming demands can lead to feelings of stress, anxiety, and depression. In Georgia, suicide is tragically the second leading cause of death among individuals aged 10-24, with the state's suicide rate at 14%. Our organization is committed to drastically reducing these numbers by providing essential resources and safe spaces for teens.
Safe spaces can include accessible mental health professionals, 24-hour hotlines, and online resources that offer comfort and support when it's most needed. By implementing these resources in schools, where students spend a significant portion of their day, we can help them feel understood, supported, and less alone. The journey to mental wellness is not easy, but with the right support systems in place, we can ensure that every teen has the chance to thrive.
